Second Time Around

Second Time Around

Transforming a disjointed 1970s townhome into a sophisticated retirement retreat required a careful balance of restraint and precision. The original structure lacked flow, proportion, and light, but it offered the opportunity for reinvention.

Guided by four foundational design principles — space, proportion, light, and material — we reimagined the home from the inside out. A modest addition, paired with a meticulous reorganization of the interior, allowed the house to align seamlessly with the client’s lifestyle.

The result is a residence that feels effortlessly connected to its coastal views, its spaces refined and harmonious, perfectly suited for this new chapter of life.

“As I’ve said throughout the process, the entire team has been amazing! The experience was not only enjoyable but deeply rewarding. When I look back at the questionnaire I completed for you and Erin, every single item was brought to life in the design. And it’s not just about the individual details — the whole home functions and feels exactly as I envisioned. It’s your beautiful design, but it’s truly me as I live in it day to day. My friends and family feel the same way, which I think is the highest compliment — you created something that feels profoundly personal.”
